Julia Pfeiffer Burns Campground
The Environmental Campsite at Julia Pfeiffer Burns SP is very likely the most incredible campsite that I have ever stayed at. It’s incredible popular and books almost immediately when availability opens on the ReserveCalifornia website 6-months in advance. Parking for the Environmental Campsite is along the west side of Highway 1 just south of Big Sur and the 2 campsites are a short 1/4 mile walk down to the cliff edge. The campsites are located on top of a tall cliff, in the trees, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. There are additional campsites located inside the park but they pale in comparison to the Environmental Campsites overlooking the ocean.
