Deetjen’s Big Sur Inn
Deetjen’s is a rustic inn located just south of the wedding venue on the east side of a bend in Highway 1 just off the roadside. It’s close to the Henry Miller Memorial Library and the infamous Nepenthe. Deetjen’s is also home to one of our favorite restaurants in town: The Restaurant at Deetjen's where we most recently celebrated Theo’s birthday.
The inn features a number of rustic rooms that can only be booked by calling the hotel and there is no wifi, television or cell phone reception at the property. Note that there is also a block of rooms that are “hostel style” and share a bathroom. All other rooms at the inn have their own private bathrooms.
Many of the rooms were destroyed in large storms during the winter of 2017 and much of the inn was closed until 2020.
