Muir Woods National Monument
A spectacular spot to walk amongst giant redwoods only 15 minutes north of the city. Muir Woods features miles of hiking trails at varying degrees of difficulty. The main trail through the heart of the redwoods get busy early and stays busy all day. You can easily lose the crowds once you branch off to some of the side trails. Plan on getting here early to beat the rush, plan to reserve parking ahead of time.
