Santa Cruz Beach Train

Kind of kitschy and probably better for when you bring the kids, but still fun to ride a full size train through the streets of Santa Cruz and then pass into Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. The train route opened in 1875 and the Roaring Camp Railroad runs round trip locomotives multiple times per day from the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Don’t plan on spending much time at the stop over in Roaring Camp, the train is really the best part. Also, we recommend taking the train from Santa Cruz at 12:00 and returning on the 2:00. Most people do it the other way but we like ending in Santa Cruz.
