Monterey Bay Aquarium
We love this place for a number of reasons… It’s a nonprofit, it’s focused on regional habitats, it focuses on conservation, it publishes Seafood Watch, a sustainable seafood advisory list, it’s slogan is “to inspire conservation of the ocean,” it helped establish the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary in 1992, one of the largest marine protected areas in the United States. Also, it’s a really cool aquarium.
